An iPad workshop to empower parents

This school holiday period I will be running an iPad workshop for parents. The 2 hour workshop will address issues surrounding better management of the iPad at home, and some techniques that can be used to promote positive learning outcomes while at school.

Thursday, 5 October. 1.30pm  – 3.30pm. Kolbe Catholic College. Register here

1. An overview of the iPad
Quickly learn how to navigate the iPad, the settings, Apple ID and iCloud.

2. Let’s look at Apple’s Family Sharing.
Pay for family purchases with the same credit card and approve kids’ spending right from a parent’s device.

3. Learn how to keep track of where everyone is, and find lost devices easier.
Make ‘sharing your location’ work for you and your children.

4. Create an account for kids under 13
as a parent or legal guardian, the family organiser can create an Apple ID for a child and add the child to the family group automatically. Great for Year 7 (or younger) students.

5. Manage restrictions
Happy with how the iPad is set up? Learn how to use basic Restrictions to better manage the student’s experience and to stop them from adding apps or changing settings.

6. Apps for learning
A quick overview of the apps which are required for learning.

If you are local to Perth, and have children that use iPads at school, you are welcome to join us. More details and registration can be found here: https://www.kolbe.wa.edu.au/featured/an-ipad-workshop-for-all-parents-2/
